Fashion icon
Bardot became a real fashion icon and trend setter. For example: she popularized wide neck tops that exposed ones shoulders, something that became known as the “Bardot neckline”. She also popularized bikini’s, with early work like Manina (1952). Before Brigitte, bikini’s were seen as overly sexual and unseemly.
“The Bardot pose”
An icon like Bardot sets trends left and right. Like the famous “Bardot pose”, which has been mimicked by numerous actresses and models over the years. The pose consists of her sitting on the floor, crosslegged and with her hands on opposite shoulders. The picture above was originally shot in 1960.
