Two water park employees turned away a 43-year-old mother.

On a scorching summer day, there’s nothing more enjoyable than spending quality time with your children at a water park. It’s a moment when kids have the time of their lives, and parents can finally catch some sun. However, for Madelyn, an American mother, her day at the water park took an unexpected turn when she was promptly asked to leave due to her outfit being deemed ‘inappropriate.’
Challenging Times
Madelyn is a kind-hearted mother who always goes the extra mile to make her children happy. Her selflessness occasionally led her to neglect her own needs. A few years ago, she faced a hernia that left her mostly immobile and led to significant weight gain, affecting her overall well-being.
A Transformation Journey
At some point, Madelyn realized that she needed to prioritize self-care. She had spent too long putting her family first at the expense of her own health. A year later, she embarked on a transformative journey that completely turned her life around. And she succeeded! Over two years, she shed about a hundred pounds. Five years later, Madelyn was still committed to her healthy lifestyle, feeling confident and comfortable in her own skin.
The Water Park Visit
On a hot summer day, Madelyn’s kids were excited to visit a water park. The Madelyn of the past, who carried extra weight, might have hesitated, but the new, fit Madelyn was eager for this adventure. She confidently donned her new black bikini and brought her entire family to Adventure Oasis Water Park.
A Boost of Confidence
Many women can relate to not feeling entirely at ease in a bikini. Madelyn had struggled with this for a long time, but on that particular summer day, she felt different. She was comfortable in her own skin, proud of her body, and rightfully so, given the tremendous effort she had put into her transformation over the years.

Unexpected Encounter
Madelyn decided to relax on her towel but was soon approached by two female employees. Their words left her dumbfounded. They asked her to leave the park, citing her bikini as “too small” and “inappropriate.”
A Baffling Situation
When Madelyn glanced around at the other women in the water park, she couldn’t understand. They were dressed similarly to her. Initially, she felt ashamed, but that feeling quickly gave way to anger. She had worked too hard to be insulted like this. With determination, she retorted, “My body is different from that of the young girls here in their bikinis. Why should I be ashamed of my body? I feel comfortable and proud of who I am.” The employees insisted that her bikini bottoms were “extremely inappropriate.”
Seeking Resolution
According to the water park employees, Madelyn had two choices: wear shorts over her bikini or leave the water park. Madelyn disagreed with both options and demanded to speak to their manager. She even challenged them, saying, “If you want me to leave, you’d better call the police and have them escort me.” Her challenge was met, and the police arrived to escort Madelyn out of the park. It wasn’t because they agreed with the water park employees, but rather, they were just doing their job. They expressed their discomfort, saying, “We can’t really say anything, but we hope you can tell from the looks on our faces how we feel about this…”
